Currently December 2017

It’s December and I’m joining in with Anne from Anne In Residence for her Currently December 2017 Link Party. Wow – I can’t believe it’s the last one for this year!

Currently I am . . .

Lighting – my Christmas tree. When my kids were young we had all kinds of ornaments made by them on the tree. But now that they have all moved out, I’ve decided to decorate my tree in red and white decorations.  There are still some homemade ornaments on the tree but not the kind made by 5 year old hands! The close up picture is the ornament I received from Toni at Small Home Soul in this ornament exchange. I’m also lighting my Christmas scented candles. Although I’ve read about many candles releasing toxins when they burn, I just can’t help myself when it comes to candles from Bath & Body works!

Spending – time baking and making. I love to bake for the holidays and this year is no different. I’ve made some banana bread and gluten free gingerbread muffins so far. I’m also planning to make some gluten free cookies to share with some co-workers next week. I just haven’t decided which kind yet! I also like to give homemade gifts to family and friends for Christmas so I have been busy with that as well!

Choosing – to slow down and enjoy the season. I don’t know about you but I don’t want to spend every weekend running around like a crazy person. If something doesn’t get done, it doesn’t get done! I’m not going to worry about it!

Sending – wishes for a joyful holiday season to all my friends and family!

Singing – along with the Christmas songs on the radio in my car. Our local christian radio station starts playing Christmas music the day after Thanksgiving. I really like the way they are doing it this year starting with only a few Christmas songs then playing more each day throughout December.

  2. My kid is young enough not to have many ornaments, so I still decorate the tree in whatever color scheme/theme I want at this point 🙂 And yes to this being baking season! I have some favorite recipes that I’ll be pulling out soon for sure.

    Thanks for linking up!

  3. I LOVE what you are up to this month! I hope you have a happy holiday season! It’s such a great idea to slow down and enjoy the season! Thank you for that reminder!

  5. Currently (as in this weekend) I am helping the hubby with an important project, writing new copy for my updated home page, decorating the Christmas Tree and planning a nap. 🙂

  6. well I am one of those crazy people you refer to who can’t slow down because I have over committed myself on writing projects and food blogging. It is a challenge to keep up and adding in holiday stuff. But grateful for your reminders and blogging link up parties to become acquainted with different blog sites.

  7. Hello Roseann I love reading these types of posts and taking a peek into other’s lives. Your tree looks lovely and I love the fact you are choosing to slow down and enjoy the season. It is such a wonderful time of year yet we can get so caught up and forget to enjoy the moment. Thanks for sharing with us at #BloggersPitStop. Have a lovely week.

I just put my tree up yesterday, but haven’t decorated it yet. I will let the kids decorate it this week. Usually I put my tree up in November, but I had surgery on Oct. 26th and still been recovering from that. Getting pumped up for Christmas though. 🙂

  9. Wish I was lighting our tree but PC, my personal Grinch, has grumbled every time I mention it. When he goes to work this week, I am going to get busy round here. The thought of warm banana bread has my mouth watering. Need to get busy baking, too!

SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAVE A PLAN AND YOU ARE STAYING BUSY. BE HAPPY AND HAVE FUN.

  11. I agree with you, I am not running around like crazy either. I even shocked my hubby. I was getting ready to go Christmas shopping with the kids….he was all set in his pajamas to chill and binge watch some four by four tv. I said “uhhh no way sparky, get up and lets go. You are helping this year! You can carry my bags”. 🙂

  13. We just started lighting candles; my boys and I went to Yankee Candle and they loved so many of the scents they persuaded me to buy a warmer and a few tart melts. I must admit I am loving the gentle scents they picked out.
