Currently, July 2017

As I was looking through posts on The Blogger’s Pit Stop one that caught my eye was Stephanie’s from Wife, Mommy, Me.  She is co-hosting the Currently, July 2017 edition link-up.  It looked like fun so I decided to join up. What is going on in your life currently?

Currently, I’m . . .

Documenting – I was recently diagnosed with Interstitial Cystitis (or painful bladder syndrome). I am keeping a food diary to track which foods are giving me flare-ups and making symptoms worse. There are specific foods to avoid all together so it is making meal planning very interesting!

Accomplishing – organizing and quilting. The pantry, the closet in my bedroom as well as the vanity under my sink have all been organized and cleaned out. And with the help of my daughter the upstairs game room was also cleaned up. I pieced a quilt top in June and have been working on quilting it this week. I hope to have that finished sometime next week.

Enjoying – the time off I have as a teacher! Nothing like a few months off from work to rest and recuperate! I get to do all of my favorite things – baking, sewing, gardening and of course not having to set the alarm!

Reading – as a new co-host of The Blogger’s Pit Stop link up party, I have been reading and enjoying lot’s and lot’s of blog posts! In addition, I’m reading The Hard Hat by Jon Gordan. Every summer we have assigned reading for the school where I work. We have read several of Jon Gordan’s books and they are always a great read with a great message.

Spending – time with my husband. We went on vacation to New Orleans and spent part of a day in Gulfport Mississippi. We took our dog, Daisy. It was her first time to experience a beach. I’m not sure if she enjoyed it or not but we sure did!

It is definitely a very relaxing month for me! I hope you are getting to do the things you love and enjoy as well!

  12. You certainly seem to keep to a busy schedule, even with your distressing diagnosis – which you do seem to be pro-active about controlling. Good on you!

I just discovered the Blogger’s Pit Stop site today! I’m totally intrigued by it – I’m exactly certain what it is, but I’ve subscribed because I enjoyed what I read and I’ll figure it out along the way.

As a retired school teacher, I remember the freedom of these summer months all too well! Keep it a secret – but it’s even more swell when it’s turned into 12 months a year LOL.

I found your blog via Beverly’s Pink Satuday blog hop. I shall return, as they say!

  14. Hi, so pleased to have met you even though it is through our mutual chronic health- this comment may be a duplicate as struggling to post. I met a lady on a pain course who had interstitial cystitis and she found a restrictive diet of some benefit.
I have missed timing for your Pitstop linkup this week – although will def return for it – but agree with you that Currently looks like fun! Off to write mine and share on Wife, Mommy,Me now! Claire x Painpalsblog.wordpress.com
